Leigh Bivings, Ph.D., CFP ® is the founder of Artemis Financial Advisors and is a Certified Divorce Financial Advisor (CDFA), trained specifically in the financial issues of divorce. She brings an interdisciplinary approach to the challenges of divorce with her knowledge of investments, financial planning, and Massachusetts divorce laws.
Leigh focuses her work on supporting clients and their attorneys to fully analyze the short- and long-term financial implications of divorce settlement proposals, and provide solutions to complicated settlement issues such as stock options and valuing closely-held businesses. Post-divorce, she helps clients transition successfully to an independent life by assisting with long-term financial planning, general financial education, and investment management.
Leigh has a Ph.D. in applied economics from Stanford University, an M.A. in International Trade and Finance from the University of Sussex, and an A.B. in International Relations from Pomona College. She has received a variety of awards, most notably the AAEA National Prize for Most Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in 1993.
Leigh is very active in the community and currently serves on the Board of YWCA Boston and is also active in the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston. She is a member of the Boston Economic Club, Boston Estate Planning Council, Financial Planning Association, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and the Association of Divorce Financial Planners.
